The CTIP program has funded development of online and CD/DVD training programs to expand practitioner knowledge in emerging specialty areas, technology/tools and process. Recent training highlighted below.
The Roadside Revegetation training modules provide a guided learning experience that teaches basic revegetation principals using text explanation, video, illustrations, interactive activities, and quizzes. The modules are intended to complement the Technical Guide but may be used for standalone training.
Each module will take approximately 30-40 minutes to complete. Information in each module builds upon the modules that precede it. If you are new to revegetation, it is recommended that you work through the modules in consecutive order. View training »
The Traffic Monitoring training modules provide the essentials of monitoring traffic in federal lands such as national parks, nature preserves and wildlife refuges. Modules cover assessing monitoring needs, scoping the effort, choosing the tools for the job, and analyzing and effectively reporting findings.

The training modules for An Integrated Approach to Building Sustainable Roadways introduce a new, six-step process for integrating sustainability into the planning, design and construction of roadway projects. This process is intended to fit within the existing design process and to remain flexible enough to apply to projects of different types and scale.
Each of the six training modules follows a structured format:
Understanding – what defines the step
Objectives – questions to consider
Application – putting principles into practice
Implementation – applying principles on a real project
Interactive features are provided throughout the modules to demonstrate concepts and successful practices on real projects. The training modules include two tools to help Practitioners develop sustainable solutions on their own projects:
Application. An Illustrative Project Example, titled Route 66 , is included in each module to illustrate how concepts are applied.
Implementation. Instructions for developing a Sustainability Plan are provided at the end of each module. Practitioners are encouraged to create a Plan for one of their own projects when they start Module 1, and update the Plan as they progress through the six modules using the provided template.
The training will take 1-2 hours, depending on level of exploration and interaction. View training »
